Can your skills could help protect the UK? As a data capability assurance, you’ll help transform our critical national security mission and enable Counter Terrorism Policing (CTP) to ensure our use of data is ambitious but always executed to the highest legal, ethical and technical standards.
Responsibilities
- Ensuring the safe and compliant use of data and technology. You will lead the review of assurance activities on some of CTP’s most high-profile data and technology programmes. You will work with HQ, regional and partner stakeholders to assess whether strategic, legal, ethical and technical requirements and standards have been met. And you will provide advice to the Digital, Data, Analysis & Technology (DDAT) Board to ensure CTP deploys new systems safely.
- Supporting operational stakeholders. You will work with key stakeholders to increase understanding of data-related assurance requirements. You will promote use of the Data Capability Assurance Framework and you will proactively identify projects and new systems/ applications that will be subject to relevant assurance activity. You will provide guidance on how to use the framework. And you will work with operational and functional stakeholders to identify and recommend actions to mitigate risk and ensure compliance with assurance obligations.
- Evolving CTP’s approach to its use of data and technology. You will define metrics and develop processes to measure use of the framework; identify and monitor key assurance risks and trends; and assess the impact of remediation activities. You will work with a range of key stakeholders to identify developments in legislation, ethics and technology; and evolve the framework and processes accordingly.
