Information about the role

Applications are invited for a part time (two days per week) HOLMES Indexer to join the Counter Terrorism Policing North West (CTPNW) Investigations Major Incident Room. We are looking to recruit a motivated and organised individual to work as part of an established team. The position is based at Greater Manchester Police Force Headquarters. The successful applicant will ideally already be a trained HOLMES Indexer, however, if not, training would be available for the right candidate.

As a HOLMES Indexer, you’ll help us manage the intricate process of investigating serious crimes. With your excellent attention to detail, you’ll maintain designated indices on the Counter Terrorism National Database, cross-reference information and raise any actions for investigation. It is about handling large volumes of material in an organised, methodical way, as well as working to agreed timelines. Be able to understand the method and state of an investigation in order to create and revise links between details stored in the HOLMES2 database and identify connections, correlations and discrepancies or anomalies.
