This is an exciting time to be working as an Intelligence researcher for SO15 and the Metropolitan Police Service (MPS). In addition to large-scale transformation, there’s the unique and ever-evolving challenge of policing London. This means that as an intelligence researcher, there are more opportunities for you to get involved with making London the safest global city in a time of unprecedented change within the UK’s largest Police Service.
SO15 Reserve is a unit that provides 24 hour first point of contact into the SO15 Counter Terrorism Command for the rest of the MPS, members of the public, other government agencies, all government departments, any national and international police or other law enforcement bodies. Reserve comprises five small teams so you must be a genuine team player who has a positive outlook and the ability to proactively identify problems or issues and work out solutions to fix them.
Much of the work is by telephone so must have a positive and helpful telephone manner and be prepared to support and assist with whatever is needed when someone calls into Reserve. We monitor MPS Command & Control systems and interrogate SO15 and MPS systems on behalf of MPS units and other forces. You will handle calls on the anti-terrorist hotline and decide if you need to create intelligence reports for dissemination. You will assist the SO15 Duty Officer to provide the initial response and co-ordination of the CT Command assets in the first stages of any CT incident or other incident of interest to SO15.
This is a rostered shift role 24/7 office, with a 20% shift allowance. Reserve is the custodian of a wide range of pre-planned contingency plans which you will be involved with implementing as and when they are required.
Please note that this role is a shadow of the Band K1
