Information about the role

The successful candidate will work within the CTPNW Investigations Department based at GMP FHQ, reporting to the D/Supt – Head of Investigations. The role will primarily involve leading investigations in both the covert and overt space, acting directly as SIO where required and maintaining oversight of other investigations. The role will involve working on occasion in collaboration with other CTP regions across the national network, and with security service partners to manage risks to national security.

Appointable candidates will be substantive Detective Chief Inspectors with experience of leading serious and complex investigations. Existing pip3 (SIO Major Crime / SOC) qualifications are desirable but not essential. Successful candidates will complete the pip3 SOC accreditation whilst in role, along with attending the national CTSIO course, and CT legislation course.
