In this role, you will act as a Holmes Receiver/Document Reader in the CTU Major Incident Room, to support the investigation of crimes falling within national, regional and force counter terrorism and extremism control strategies with the aim of securing prosecution. You will analyse information forwarded to the incident room in relation to ongoing CTU enquiries, process paperwork and maintain the Major Incident Paper Management System.
With an understanding of policing within the wider context of social issues, you will have knowledge of force policy/procedure and best practice in relation to major crime investigation. You will have experience in the preparation of prosecution files, investigating complex and protracted enquiries, liaising with CPS and legal representatives and of investigations dealing with forensic submissions and exhibits. You should be computer literate and have thorough knowledge of PACE, related procedures and Home Office procedures relevant to Major Crime Investigation which is also essential to the role as is having successfully completed a Receiver/Reader/Action Manager HOLMES course or be willing to attend and successfully complete the course once appointed.
You should have a flexible approach in relation to work requirements, willing to work independently and abnormal hours when necessary.
