National Training Manager (Prevent)

Applications are invited from motivated, dynamic and suitably qualified individual to perform a National Prevent Training Manager role within the National Counter Terrorism Policing (NCTP) Operational Development Unit (ODU) located in West Midlands.

The National Training Manager will work as part of the National Training & Development (T&D) Team to, in accordance with the National T&D Strategy, validate, evaluate and support delivery of training courses primarily aligned to the Prevent thematic area to ensure they achieve organisational objectives, meet customer requirements and contribute to the personal and professional development of Prevent personnel.  There may also be a requirement to support other thematic areas within the Training & Development Team.

You will be required to work under the line management of the National T&D Manager and in conjunction with the National Organisational Learning and Development (OL&D) Team, to identify skills gaps, make recommendations and review national CT specific training, to ensure operational performance is maintained and developed.

You will be required to both lead and work on programme maintenance and development within the thematic area, provide advice and guidance to thematic leads, key stakeholders, partners and other requiring agencies where appropriate, working collaboratively with or in support of other CT disciplines and policing capabilities.

Sound working knowledge and personal experience of Counter Terrorism Policing (primarily in the Prevent thematic area – including current legislation) and the possession of a suitable training qualification (or having a willingness and ability to acquire the requisite accreditation) are considered essential when applying for this role.

Successful applicants will be required to work under the line management of the National Training and Development Manager.
