There’s never been a more important time to be working in counter terrorism.

A career in Counter Terrorism Policing (CTP) is like no other, as you’ll be playing your part in protecting the public. Could you use your experience, knowledge and skills to support national security? Take on the role of Organisational Resilience Manager, and you’ll ensure that threats to our national security are identified and mitigated – wherever they are.

You will be a key member of the Organisational Resilience Team, working with senior managers in the Counter Terrorism Policing Headquarters (CTPHQ), the Metropolitan Police’s Specialist Operations Commands and with Counter Terrorism Units across the country.

The Counter Terrorism Policing Headquarters (CTPHQ) Compliance and Assurance Pillar undertake a number of governance and assurance functions on behalf of CT Policing across the UK.

The purpose of the Organisational Resilience Unit is to imbed risk management into strategic decision making, business planning and performance management, as well as ensure the UK Counter Terrorism Policing Network is able to prepare for, respond to, and recover from disruptive incidents as and when they occur.

As an Organisational Resilience Manager (Band D) for Counter Terrorism Policing, you will work across a range of specialist business areas, both locally and nationally. You will support the Head of Organisational Resilience to ensure that policies, processes and practices are in place to manage risk, as well as produce, monitor, maintain and test coordinated business continuity and disaster recovery plans.

Responsibilities

Regular Duties

  • Coordinate the CTP National & Specialist Operations (SO) Risk Registers, ensuring risks are accurately identified and reported.
  • Facilitate both the quarterly SO/CTPHQ Risk Board, chaired by Deputy Assistant Commissioner for SO (DACSO) and the quarterly CTP National Risk Board, chaired by the Head of Compliance & Assurance.
  • Act as a point of contact for all CTP National and SO Risk Owners.
  • Meet monthly with Risk Leads to discuss the risks owned and provide second line assurance.
  • Complete an annual Risk Maturity Assessment.
  • On the request of the CTPHQ Director General and DACSO, attend relevant boards and record relevant risks.
  • Provide administrational support for our national cloud based risk management application (4Risk).
  • Conduct and develop Business Impact Analysis, Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Plans using the corporate approach adapted as required for CT business.
  • Monitor and review the performance and effectiveness of the Business Continuity Management Systems.
  • Ensure all Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery plans for each area of the CT Policing Network are tested in an appropriate manner on behalf of and in consultation with the CT Senior Leadership Teams.
  • Implement and identify operating controls and measures for managing the organisation’s overall capability to manage disruptive incidents.
  • Act as the point of contact for CTPHQ in relation to Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery for the CT Policing Network.
  • Manage projects and ad hoc tasks to develop and improve the unit’s processes and procedures, as directed by Head of Unit.

Occasional Duties

  • Attendance at venues outside Metropolitan Police Service estate, e.g. regional Counter Terrorism Units (CTUs), conferences, etc.
  • Undertake ad hoc tasks for the wider Compliance and Assurance pillar and involvement in pillar activities as required.
