Could you provide the support we need to manage national applications? As a Senior Applications Analyst, you’ll ensure the success of a major initiative involving real-time video infrastructure. Thanks to fast-evolving technology, new applications are being developed for policing all the time. You’ll support this growing area by tackling issues for a new video-based application primarily based on Milestone. Day-to-day, you’ll work within an IT support function, monitoring components such as video servers, applications servers and 3rd party feeds. If incidents occur, you’ll provide 2nd line support.
At this level, you’ll also take ownership of patching applications and working with various 3rd party application vendors and suppliers. In effect, you’ll be a point of escalation, ensuring the entire video application estate aligns with the business requirements. Customer focus is essential, along with seamless collaboration.
We’re also looking for experience of Incident and Service Request Resolution using Service Management skills. With this background, you’ll understand ITIL processes, incident management, change management and problem management. An analytical thinker who’s used to working to strict SLAs, you’ll have a firm grasp of business logic and technical tools.
As a senior you will be responsible for outlining and implementing an ITIL aligned Application Management strategy with the assistance of the Applications and Data Manager. You will also mentor and aid the Applications Support Analysts’ and assist in the continuous development of the Applications and Data Team.
This role requires a flexible working approach and may on occasion require travel to sites around the UK, as well as working on-call. There may also be occasions where work is required outside of core business hours for maintenance work on critical systems.
