Man arrested at Heathrow Airport on suspicion of terrorism offences

A man, aged 25 from High Wycombe has been arrested at Heathrow Airport as part of an investigation by officers from Counter Terrorism Policing South East (CTPSE).

He was arrested today (29/9) under the provisions of Section 41 of the Terrorism Act 2000 and on suspicion of a number of offences, including –

  • Having committed offences of preparing for acts of terrorism, under Section 5 of the Terrorism Act 2006
  • Membership of a proscribed organisation, under Section 11 of the Terrorism Act 2000
  • Receiving weapons training, under Section 54 of the Terrorism Act 2000

The arrest follows an investigation by CTPSE which relates to Islamist Terrorism.
