Information About The Role
The National Terrorist Financial Investigation Unit (NTFIU) conducts intelligence development work primarily in respect of Terrorist Financing and supports investigations across the Commands three Mission areas (Counter Terrorism / Counter State Threats / War Crimes). The NTFIU also develops work in respect of associated financially related offences, e.g., Money Laundering and Fraud. The commands Confiscators are also within the unit, which you may be responsible for line managing.
You will be responsible for supervising / leading complex Counter Terrorist Finance intelligence development work and providing subject matter expertise advice to investigative teams. You may also be required to represent the NTFIU across the UK (CT Network) and overseas.
Essential Criteria
- Substantive Detective Sergeant
- Knowledge and experience of serious and complex crime investigations.
- Knowledge and experience of Intelligence development work.
- A willingness and desire to learn new skills and knowledge regarding CT issues.
- Ability to build relationships and work with external agencies (Public/Private), including other enforcement agencies.
- Good organisational, time management and planning skills.
- Willingness to be flexible in your approach to work & undertake financial Continuous Professional Development.
- Willingness to become DV/STRAP vetted.
Desirable Criteria
- Current or previous Accredited Financial Investigator.
- Knowledge and experience of Financial Investigations.
- Knowledge and experience of Counter Terrorism Investigations.
- Knowledge and experience of Virtual Asset (‘Crypto’) investigations.
