In this week’s episode of our Inside Counter Terrorism Policing podcast, we’re introducing you to ‘Grace’, whose career has taken her from finance officer at the age of 17, to managing an online intelligence unit whose work saves lives every day.
Grace works in – the Counter Terrorism Internet Referral Unit (CTIRU) which handles reports about extremist content from the public and works to take down illegal content online
Her career has spanned some of the defining moments in the UK’s history, including the response to the 2017 attacks in London and Manchester.
Now, she works alongside everyone else in Counter Terrorism Policing to try and stop attacks like that from happening again.
In this episode, we hear how her team used intelligence from a social media user in the UK, to prevent a deadly attack overseas, and why it’s critically important that the public report their concerns.
Her episode is released today (Thursday 2 April), and is available on Acast, Spotify and Apple.
