Information about the role

Taking action against those posing the highest threat to national security across the South East of the country is both a challenging and rewarding position. We are now welcoming applications from Police Constables to work with Counter Terrorism Policing South East (CTPSE) Investigations Unit.

This is a new and exciting opportunity for PCs to be part of a team of investigators who provide a 24/7 response to terrorism offences while working towards their DC accreditation. Applicants who are successfully through their NIE will now be able to work alongside experienced detectives who will help coach and mentor within the CT arena.

The successful candidates will develop and maintain effective working relationships with collaborative forces and other partner agencies across the South East region. The role will involve you co-ordinating and supporting major/ sensitive investigations, gathering evidence and intelligence in support of the investigative strategy.

Please note that these roles are part of a national, regional and local network and as a result you may be required to travel for business purposes mainly across the south east region and occasionally throughout the UK. Therefore, the successful candidates will require a full UK driving licence. You will also be required to perform on-call arrangements for immediate response as required across the South East region

Due to the nature of our work, security is of paramount importance to us and therefore it will be necessary to pass and maintain vetting level SC together with a number of enhanced security checks.  In order to achieve this, you must be a British National and have resided in the UK for the past five yearsExemptions may apply for overseas or other diplomatic service (with HM Government), and studying abroad. Please be aware that if successful there are limitations on travelling to a small number of countries once in post
