Counter Terrorism Case Officer (CTCO) – Prevent (CTPSE)

Contract type -Permanent

Grade/Band/Scale/Rank TVP Broad Band 3G

Information about the role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a CT Case Officer (CTCO) to work within the Counter Terrorism Unit South East (CTPSE) under the Prevent Strand of the United Kingdom’s Counter-Terrorism strategy (CONTEST).  You will be connecting CT policing, neighbourhood policing and communities to stop individuals being exploited by extremists; working with local authority partners and community organisations to help find solutions and work to support and protect people vulnerable to radicalisation.

The core responsibilities of a CTCO fall with three main categories: Case Management, Engagement, and Police Support.

Prevent CTCO’s play a key role in assessing if cases are suitable for Local Authority led management and refer cases to a Channel Coordinator.  Coordinating between different organisations is an important part of this work, so a strong safeguarding background would be advantageous.
