1. Transferring to the Met
London is changing and the Met is too.
This is an exciting time to be working for the Met. Policing London is a challenge like no other and, in this ever changing city, new opportunities arise for even the most accomplished of officers.
We’re currently accepting applications from uniform and detective constables who have passed their probation periods and are looking to join the Met.
As a serving police officer or detective constable, you do not need to move to London in order to join us and we accept applications from officers in all Home Office forces. The terms of transferring will vary accordingly.
The opportunity
We are interested in hearing from officers – PC or DC – with a range of skills and experiences from frontline to specialist units
The size, diversity and importance of our organisation means that we have a huge range of potential career paths that span different areas of policing and a variety of specialisms.
If you are currently working as a specialist (or you’re in a specialist command) please ensure you tell us in your application.
