Information about the role
As a MIR HOLMES Indexer, you’ll make a valuable and significant contribution to CTU operations.
You’ll be responsible for raising actions and indexing documents in accordance with MIRSAP guidelines for the investigation of Major Crime and Counter Terrorism. You’ll also be responsible for ensuring all material gathered as part of an investigation is retained, recorded and revealed where appropriate in support of evidential case build and disclosure. It’s essential that we ensure material entering the MIR is relevant, accurate and proportional whilst complying with legislation
You’ll assist with typing, proof reading and general admin where necessary and be involved in the preparation of interview transcripts, including registration of interviews onto the HOLMES database, assisting the forensic management team with inputting exhibits as well as assisting with court preparation and case build.
Responsibilities
In addition to responsibilities listed in the role information:
- Reading and researching information submitted into the incident room (MIR), recording information in the HOLMES data base in accordance with MIRSAP and standard operating procedures.
- Receiving and registering all documentation appropriately using the HOLMES software and any replacement system.
- Raising, updating and completing outstanding actions.
- Indexing the content of documents following guidance and creating cross references as appropriate.
- Using ancillary software, such as the Altia Document Management software and word processing systems to log and integrate multimedia and undertake any additional research required.
- Attending court and giving evidence as required.
