Information about the role

The CT Nominal Management Supervisor role line manages the team of NM Officers. You will be responsible for supervising cases and ensuring MoG standards, providing quality assurance and a point of escalation. As well as also being responsible for coordinating between NM Supervisors in other regions.

You’ll be based at our modern offices near to Birmingham Airport. The role is predominately working 0800 x 1600 hours Monday to Friday, but an element of flexibility is needed to meet business needs and to cover an on call function on occasion.

 

Responsibilities 

  • Lead by example and behaving in line with the Police Code of Ethics ensuring that the force values and behavioural expectations are clearly understood and considered by managers, officers and staff in their decision making and actions; reinforcing and influencing them through all interactions and processes.
  • Proactively managing the performance, attendance and wellbeing of police officers and police staff against the require standards to ensure they are dealt with and supported in accordance with the correct policies and procedures.
  • Supervising and evaluating the intelligence flow relating to regionally-managed nominals and in collaboration with the Security Service employ effective responses and strategies to manage risk.
  • Enhance and develop collaborative partnership with statutory partners (Probation, HMCS, Prison etc) and Non Statutory Partners.
  • To work in partnership with agencies both within and outside the CTP regional network and ensure effective liaison with all interested parties. To share information as appropriate, developing good practice and ensuring strategies are effectively implemented.
  • Conduct assessment and review of CTP regional selected nominals through informed intelligence collection in compliance with relevant legislation and policy and ensure effective management.
  • To supervise the CTP regional Nominal Management team, maximising effectiveness of resource deployment to mitigate risk in collaboration with the forces throughout the region and where applicable nationally.
  • Conduct intelligence driven briefings, tasking and debriefings to ensure all team members have a clear understanding of their role, priorities and current CT issues.
  • Supervise and direct delegated investigations and enquiries in line with agreed Unit objectives. Maintaining an understanding of relevant local force objectives and best practice, to achieve the required aim.
  • To be responsible for the development of staff, including the setting and maintenance of standards, management of welfare and identification and addressing of training requirements to achieve maximum effectiveness.
  • Supervises the subject management and risk assessments to determine and approve the risk grading.
  • (SO15, Team 7) Investigate breaches and set investigation plans and strategies, determine investigations and outcomes, perform the ERO role and lead on CPS CTD liaison, as per CTD policy. This is ongoing and often time consuming pre and post charge.
