West Yorkshire Police are looking to recruit a Prevent Case Officer to play a key role in a unique team, supporting the work of Counter Terror Policing.
In this role, you will deliver Prevent activity in line with legislation, ensuring an effective partnership approach with statutory and voluntary sector colleagues. This will involve averting counter-terrorism threat, risk and harm at an early stage by negating vulnerabilities that draw people into harmful ideologies and/or actions.
You will be required to have the ability to communicate complex and sensitive subject matter to large and diverse groups, as well as an awareness of political, religious, cultural and diversity issues. In addition, you will have an understanding of the current CT strategy, Counter Terrorism and Security Act 2015, Channel programme and Prevent strategy.
The successful candidate will have experience of working with and problem-solving with, external agencies together with a proven ability to work with minimum supervision in situations demanding sensitivity and confidentiality.
Applicants must have a full current UK/European driving licence and be prepared to work flexible hours to suit the CTP requirements which includes being willing to work wherever required within the UK, as part of a Regional or National response.
