Hull Investigation – Charge Update

Charge Update – March 4, 2026 (Updated March 5, 2026)

A 23-year-old man from Hull has been charged with five offences following an investigation by CTP North East, supported by Humberside Police.

Mikka Anderson, a white British national from Hull is charged with:

  • One offence of preparing acts of terrorism, contrary to section 5 of the Terrorism Act 2006
  • One offence of possessing articles for a terrorist purpose, contrary to section 57 of the Terrorism Act 2000
  • Two offences of possessing information of a kind likely to be useful to a person committing or preparing an act of terrorism, contrary to Section 58 of the Terrorism Act 2000
  • One offence of possessing article with blade in a public place, contrary to section 139 of the Criminal Justice Act 1988

He has appeared at Westminster Magistrates Court and has been remanded in custody. He will next appear at the Central Criminal Court on Friday, March 27.

The man was arrested on Thursday, February 26, as part of a pre-planned intelligence led operation.

A seven-day warrant of further detention was granted by the courts on Friday, February 27.

A residential property in Hull was searched as part of the operation.

A 23-year-old woman was also arrested on Thursday, February 26. She has since been released without charge.

Detective Chief Superintendent James Dunkerley is Head of Counter Terrorism Policing North East. He said: “We understand that the arrests and police activity that have taken place may have caused concern in the local community.

“Public safety remains our number one priority at all times. An extensive and thorough investigation has led to an individual being charged today.

“We will continue to work alongside Humberside Police and our partners to act on any information that indicates a potential threat to our communities.

Counter Terrorism Policing North East can confirm a Warrant of Further Detention has been approved to continue questioning two people arrested in Hull on Thursday, February 26.

The man, a white British national and woman, a white Polish national, both aged 23, were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to murder, contrary to Section 1(1) of the Criminal Law Act 1977. The man was also arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon.

They have both been rearrested on suspicion of the preparation of terrorist acts, contrary to Section 5 of the Terrorism Act 2006.

Both currently remain in custody. A Warrant of Further Detention was granted today (Friday, February 27) for seven days, giving officers until Thursday, March 5, to hold the suspects.

A search at a residential address in Hull is currently ongoing in connection with this investigation.
