Contract type – Full Time, Permanent

Location – Surrey, Sussex

Grade/Rank – Sergeant

Information about the Role

We welcome applications from substantive Sergeants, as well as those who have successfully passed their force promotion board, for a Sergeant position within the Counter Terrorism Policing South East (CTPSE) Fixed Intelligence Management Unit (FIMU), primarily supervising Surrey and Sussex.

In this role, you will provide effective supervision, guidance and leadership within the Counter Terrorism Intelligence Management Unit, ensuring the professional, consistent management and robust quality control of all intelligence and information entering and leaving the unit.

You will also oversee the development of intelligence to support the assessment and management of threat and risk in relation to Counter Terrorism priorities.

Applicants will have experience across the broad spectrum of intelligence supervision, including risk management, together with strong communication, interpersonal and leadership skills.

You must be able to work effectively under pressure and demonstrate sound time-management and decision making capabilities. Where not already held, support will be provided to enable the successful candidate to achieve ICIDP (Detectives) accreditation whilst in post.

The Intelligence Department operates on a 24/7 basis, and supervisory roles are required to support an oncall function. While this post carries a specific operational brief and requires detailed subject matter knowledge, the post holder is also expected to maintain a broad awareness of the wider Counter Terrorism remit, context and strategic priorities. The focus of the role may change in line with evolving operational demands.
