Three Men Charged With Preparing for an Act of Terrorism

Three men have appeared before Westminster Magistrates Court today (Tuesday, February 27) charged with preparing for an act of terrorism.

They have all been remanded into custody and will appear at the Central Criminal Court on March 15, 2024.

Following an investigation into suspected Extreme Right Wing activity by Counter Terrorism Policing North East, the three men were charged on Monday, February 26:

  • Brogan STEWART (23/11/1999) from Leeds, West Yorkshire is charged under Section 5 of the Terrorism Act 2006 – Engaging in the preparation of an act of terrorism.
  • Marco PITZETTU (20/08/1999) from Derby, Derbyshire is charged under Section 5 of the Terrorism Act 2006 – Engaging in the preparation of an act of terrorism.
  • Christopher RINGROSE (09/06/1990) of Cannock, Staffordshire is charged under Section 5 of the Terrorism Act 2006 – Engaging in the preparation of an act of terrorism.

 

The men were arrested on Tuesday, February 20 from their home addresses, under Section 41 of the Terrorism Act 2000 as part of a pre-planned, intelligence led operation.

Seven-day Warrants of Further Detention were granted on Wednesday, February 21.

Searches were carried out at their home addresses as part of the investigation.

A fourth person, a 46 year old man from Leicester, was also arrested on Tuesday, February 20. He has been released without charge.
