Information about the role

Counter Terrorism Policing North West (CTPNW) have an exciting opportunity for a Secure Networks Engineer to join the IT Security department. As a Secure Networks Engineer, you will provide a range of excellent user focused IT services, as well as controlling and supervising user access to diverse and complex secure networks.

Responsibilities

  • To work as part of a team to provide first and second line support of core IT applications for all CTPNW and NCTPHQ staff.
  • To be responsible for ensuring all CTPNW and NCTPHQ Networks are secure by implementing, configuring and maintaining the encryption to protect the data carried.
  • To assess situations and make decisions using own initiative in order to resolve issues which result in the setting of standards for end users and put forward recommendations for change and decide upon appropriate implementation.
  • To be responsible for managing all personal accounts ensuring all CTPNW and NCTPHQ staff have the correct levels of access to networks, monitoring  staff network access regularly and escalating any security threats to Senior Management.
